Thuy Doan is a faculty member at the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management, Fulbright University Vietnam. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Master’s in Public Policy from the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program in Vietnam. Her research focuses on environmental, energy, and development economics, with particular interests in evaluating energy conservation policies, climate impact analysis, and optimizing sustainable energy mixes for decarbonization. As part of the MCET project, Thuy customized the SWITCH model to reflect Vietnam’s unique power sector characteristics, designing scenarios to support policy discussions on zero-emission goals and energy transition pathways. Her work also explores optimal pathways for electric vehicle adoption, informed by stakeholder feedback, to enhance planning in Vietnam’s electricity sector.
