Joyashree Roy is currently the Distinguished professor and Director of the Centre on South and South-East Asia Multidisciplinary Applied Research Network on Transforming Societies of Global South at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. She is Founder advisor of Global Change Programme, Jadavpur University. She is listed among the world’s top 2% of influential scientists in the field of Energy as per rankings published by Stanford University in 2023. She was in IPCC-2007 Nobel Peace Prize winning panel and has been coordinating lead author through past three cycles, and the lead author of many global, regional and national and subnational reports.  She is in the team of scientists  which was awarded the  ‘5th Prince Sultan Bin Aziz’ award. She is the recipient of 2021 Paradigm award by Breakthrough Institute of USA. She has published more than 170 peer reviewed papers in Journals and as book chapters and authored books.

Firuz Ahamed Nahid is a Postdoc Researcher at the Centre on South and South-East Asia Multidisciplinary Applied Research Network on Transforming Societies of Global South (SMARTS) at the Asian Institute of Technology. His research interests include energy system modelling, renewable energy integration, AI and machine learning in power system application, Energy management with low-carbon technologies, and Demand-side solutions, aiming to advance net-zero energy solutions for societal and environmental benefit. He pursued his master of engineering in Electric Power System Management and doctoral degree in Sustainable Energy Transition from the Asian Institute of Technology in 2019 and 2023, respectively.

Hasan Mahmud is the Director of Innovation at Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council. From 2018 to 2021, he worked as a Bangabandhu Chair Researcher at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand.  Prior to that, from 2009 to 2018, he served as Deputy Manager at Sylhet Gas Fields Limited (a national company for natural gas exploration and production), Bangladesh from 2009-2018. His research focuses on energy sector development and sustainable energy solutions. He pursued his doctoral degree in Energy Policy Planning and Economics from AIT, Thailand.
